Volunteers

We are indebted to the men, women, and children who give of their valuable time and energy to support the annual celebration and re-enactment. The month of June is extremely hot, and we understand that a nice air conditioned house can be a more attractive location for our volunteers to spend their time. Additionally, the event takes place on Father's Day weekend, and we understand that some of our volunteers are not able to bring their fathers and grandfathers to the event because of the heat. Many of them rearrange their schedules to accommodate both the event and the holiday. Some of our speakers volunteer their time at the event to educate the general public about the historical significance of the battle, and encourage everyone in attendance to help, in some manner, preserve the site for posterity.

The Lincoln County Historic Properties Commission and Lincoln County Historical Association begin contacting volunteers and coordinating the volunteer schedule as early as November of each year, and we WELCOME anyone who has an interest in helping our organizations plan and carry out the annual event. We maintain a family friendly environment complete with ample water, laughter, food, fellowship, and camaraderie.

If you are interested in volunteering to help with the event, please contact Tina Guffey, LCHA Administrative Assistant, at (704) 748-9090 or tina.guffey@yahoo.com.

Included below is volunteer signup sheet that outlines the areas where we need volunteers, and the time slots.
